Two weeks after our trip down south to Sand Hollow we had our big trip planned with Ashley, Mom, Dad, Eric, Kati, Colton, Bri, Mikael, Steve, Sue, Chad, Amber, and Owen to Goblin Valley State Park and the San Rafael Swell area. With more visions of sun, warmth and R & R in mind we took off to satisfy those needs.
Upon arrival Dad and Bri took off to find the ultimate camp site. They returned on the 4-wheelers excited to share the grand news that they had found THE spot! We got camp set up and called it a night. The next day proved to be the tell all of just how good the camp site was. A wind storm that started at 8:00 in the morning blew sand around and through camp the rest of the day. Some of us even would put our goggles on to go from trailer to trailer. I had placed my trailer in what I thought was the ultimate spot, it ended up being the funnel where 90% of the sand blew during the wind storm.
We ate sand for the duration of the trip but still had a fantastic time camping, playing games, trying to catch the Jazz game on the radio amidst all the static, hiking Little Wild Horse canyon, paintball, and riding (or burying) 4-wheelers. I will post a seperate section with the details on the nice move I made in swamping Liesel's brand spanking new ride in the Muddy River. Our trip was jam packed full of fun and enjoyable times. One of the highlights would have to be the hike up Little Wild Horse Canyon! With spectacular views and slot canyons to hike through we were lucky enough to take advantage of part of Utah's awesome landscape.

We even talked dad into joining in on the fun and you could tell by the way he was army crawling across the ground and frantic shooting that he was hooked. The goblins were a perfect battlefield for our battle!
The picture below is of Hunter on his 4-wheeler. He didn't ride it all that much, he would make it just out of camp and stop to rub his thumb. At one point he stopped and looked back to me and yelled, "Daddy, I think my thumb is going to fall off!" I guess we don't have to worry too much about him going through gallons and gallons of gas.

What a way to bring in the camping season! With two trips like that to fire off the year we can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

Glad you joined the rest of us dorks with this blog thing! Looks like you have been busy. I am excited to see that you have paintball stuff. I have had a gun for years now with nobody to shoot but cats. Now it looks like summer camping trips will include hunting deer and people.
Boston stinks!
