At the 4th of July parade in Oakley. This turned out to be quite the event. There were two Rodeo queen girls at the beginning of the parade. One of the horses of those girls was really skiddish and prancing around. This horse ended up getting near the edge of the road and slid and flipped down into a ditch with the girl on it. The horse landed on the girl's leg which she had just had surgery on and had a staff infection from. Her leg was hurt pretty bad and she was rushed off in an ambulance. The horse ended up breaking its neck and died. It was so sad. It happened right in front of where we were. It stopped the parade for about 30 minutes, but they did end up finishing the parade. They covered the horse until after the parade and then took care of it. There were a bunch of people standing around the horse, but when it came time to dispose of it everyone left except for Greg, my brother-in-law Jeff, and two other guys. So they had to do the dirty work.

Norah going for some candy that was thrown. She and Hunter gathered a huge grocery sack full. We have enough taffy to last a year!

We drove to Oakley then unloaded the four wheelers on New Lane and drove them into the parade. It was a lot of fun...if only the horse accident hadn't happened.
