Hunter has officially caught the riding bug this past week. He has ridden with help somewhat his entire life but it wasn't until a week ago that I threw the rope down and with a little faith decided to let him ride entirely on his own.

I guess 4 years old is still quite young but so far he seems to have better balance than most. And the look on his face while he is riding around the trails in our subdivision is priceless.

I actually have renewed my enjoyment of riding and look forward to those evenings and/or weekends when the weather is good enough to throw the saddles on and go for a quick ride. Grandpa bought a new kids saddle that seems to fit Hunter just right...well all except for the stirrups, but we remedied that problem. He always has to be all decked out with his hat, boots, belt, and so on.

The other day we were riding and he was wanting to trot, or in his terms "Daddy, I want to go fast!" Well little buddy, we will start with the trot and work our way up. We took a little video of him in the round pen to show Liesel what we were doing while she was taking her nap. Maybe it's better for him to learn while she isn't watching. You know how dads are...always trying to make their boys grow up faster than they should.
