Ice Fishing

Greg and Hunter went ice fishing last Saturday at Strawberry Reservoir. I was worried Hunter was not going to be a good fishing partner since they left very early in the morning and he was awakened and taken from his bed at about 6:30am. He also got to bed much later than usual the night before. They had talked about it days in advance and Hunter was so excited, so Greg decided to give it a try even though Hunter might be grumpy the whole time. Turns out Hunter absolutely loved it! They brought all kinds of yummy goodies which I'm sure helped. The first four fish caught were Hunter's on his Batman pole. Greg got Hunter's pole ready and then went out to get his ready. He heard Hunter yell, "Daddy, I got one!" Greg went in and sure enough he did. Hunter had his pole in the water all of one minute. Hunter reeled it in all by himself, then he started to get scared once the fish was in site, as you can see by the picture above. Greg took over, then Hunter was happy. See picture below.

They had a blast. Every day since they went Hunter has been asking when they are going to go ice fishing again. Hunter also overcame his fear of touching worms. He was so proud of himself when he came home that he dared to touch them now. He came inside with his arms behind his back and told me he had a surprise for me. I was thinking how cute, my little boy thought of me and brought me home something. I was trying to figure out what it might be, when he whipped his arms around and threw a worm at me! I screamed and threw it off of me, and he laughed. I told him, "Hunter, that's not funny! You don't throw worms at girls!" Then he ran to his room crying. I was left to pick the worm up with a thick paper towel and throw it away after a little searching. My reflexes were to instantly get it off me and I wasn't sure where it ended up. I told Greg what Hunter did and he just laughed. No sympathy at all. My boys love to gang up on me, tease me and play tricks on me. I can't wait til Norah is a little older and can be on my side. I'm constantly getting tackled, tickled and tortured. My worst fear is that Norah will end up joining their side! I can't even think about it, 3 on 1!
